Assignment/Essay work

So for our assignment in our groups we have to make a flash website for a department on the college in my group are:

Dan Boneham
Tom Millen
Dan Stevens
And me Dan Sherman

At first for the course we wanted to do stone masonry, but after we found out that it was based in Poundbury we decided to go for a course inside the college so we decided on catering.

On the first day of our assignment we made a plan using excel, deciding on what part each person should work on and this included start dates and planned finishing dates.

What people had to do:

Dan Sherman:
-Flash website
-Filming
-Planning

Dan Boneham:
-Camera man
-Filming
-Editing

Tom Millen:
-Filming
-Flash website
-Planning

We also had to book a camera and a tripod from the media center, to rent the equipment out we had to fill out a risk assessment and make sure we had the minimum of two hours before we could take the equipment out. we also filmed some footage in the catering area as well as in the cygnets restaurant which is part of catering.

The flash site:
With the website the designs of the pages are using the mx.transition code to swap between the pages and there are 4 different pages on the site all linked with different coloured buttons to match the pages so when you are on a page with the same coloured button it looks like the button has disappeared.

(plan)pages on the flash site:

Weymouth college catering:
This is the main page It will have information about catering and a brief intro to catering on

Catering video:
this page will just have a video on which is edited through adobe premiere cs6

About catering and career aspects:
This will be more detailed than the main page for catering and it will also have career aspects on e.g. what jobs you can go into

Contact us:
This page will just have information on how to contact catering in Weymouth college and a number for the Weymouth college also the address for the college and e-mail addresses for people to send emails

flash background page scroll button thing

So Julian shown me how to make a button scroll to a different page without tweens but instead with code.

And instead of me pasting lines of code I'm just going to put the link for you to download the .fla and the .swf file, it's only just the pages and three buttons nothing fancy as I was just taught it at the time text and fancy titles weren't on my mind:

Prezi/re-skinning update

So our group has finished re-skinning the game a second time, after we looked through our results we found that people liked the concept but wanted more colour, so we re-skinned the game and the re-skinned game is our final game, after this was re-skinned we had to make a presentation to show on friday the 27th of September, using Prezi we made a presentation for our game reskinned and not reskinned, the presentation compared the two, the differences and why we made the changes and how we did them, the presentation also shown our research and results.

If you want to see what our final presentation looked like then you can look here:

research for our first assignment!

So as our first assignment we are working in groups of three to make a flash website for a course at Weymouth college, our chosen course is catering, we were going to do stone masonry however we found out that it was based away from the college.

we have been looking at flash websites for catering and seeing what kinds of designs we could use, this also helped with what code could be used and also how the flash websites we researched worked
